Meet the Board of Directors
Steve Janssen

Steve Janssen, Museum Curator — Steve started collecting space memorabilia when he was about 5 years old. That led to an interest in astronomy. He was an instructor with the Young Astronauts Program where he taught youth the importance of learning about space, science, math and technology. He was a member of the Saguaro Astronomy Club in Arizona before becoming a member of the Sangre Stargazers Astronomy Club in Colorado. He is also a member of the Dark Skies Organization and a volunteer for the Space Foundation based in Colorado Springs. He also volunteers as a member of the Custer County Search & Rescue as well as a volunteer firefighter. In his spare times he enjoys hiking, climbing and just being in the mountains.

Amy Dividio

Amy Dovidio, Secretary — Amy is a new resident of Colorado having grown up in Northwest Kansas. She is a graduate from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS and holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management. In her spare time she volunteers for a local youth group and is a mentor to high school girls in Custer County. Also she is a volunteer at Eagle Summit Ranch, a learning center for the soldiers/ wounded warriors, in Colorado. In addition, she is an "extreme couponer" and is the president of her own coupon ministry called Couponers4Christ. Amy is very excited to be involved with the Southern Colorado Space Museum and Learning Center.

Jason Unwin 

Jason Unwin, Director — Jason was born in Pueblo Colorado and graduated from Centennial High School in 1979. He was active in school activities such as Army JROTC and Speech and Debate team,  graduated with honors and received a four year Army ROTC Scholarship to the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. He attended the University of Southern Colorado and received a BS in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Jason was commissioned into the Regular Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.
   Jason was a graduate of the Field Artillery Basic Course at Ft. Sill, OK and assigned to the 2nd Battalion 5th Field Artillery with the First Infantry Division at Ft. Riley Kansas. He served in Kansas, Neu Ulm West Germany, and Ft. Bragg North Carolina. Is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and assisted port operations at the Saudi port of Ad-Dammam. Left the Army at Ft. Bragg NC with Second US Army Readiness Group advising and training Army Reserve and National Guard Units.
   Jason started working in corrections at the Triangle Correctional Institution for the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Raleigh. In 1994 He started working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons ( an agency of the US Department of Justice) at Ft. Dix, NJ. In 1995 he was assigned to the United States Penitentiary at Florence Colorado and has been working there to the present day.
   He is married to Debra Unwin and have three children ( 1 boy and two girls) and 11 grand children. Is the Education Officer for the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum, Aerospace Education Officer for the Mel Harmon Chapter of the Air Force Association, President of the Southern Colorado Rocketeers (NAR Section #632), and Chief of Section for the 5th Texas Field Artillery (Confederate) Civil War Reenacting unit.

Bob Croach

Bob Croach, Director Robert (aka Bob) is a happily transplanted Coloradoan from Florida. Following a twenty-year career in the USAF flying everything from "trash haulers" to B-52s, Bob started a second career as a government contractor. He supported FAA, NASA, DoD and Federal, State, and Local law enforcement with various computer based products including online training, real-time, interactive work sites, and various logistical support functions. He currently is providing consulting support for environmental remediation and online training/interactive technical manuals. He is also the chairman of his community Road User's Group in rural southern Colorado and actively and enthusiastically supports the mission and concept of the Southern Colorado Space Museum and Learning Center.

Terri Rowenhorst

Terri Rowenhorst, Director of Education & Marketing — brings a passion for education and 20 years of experience in business development and marketing in the educational publishing and technology sector. Terri is currently the director of membership services for the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC) a non-profit effort which offers open content to support learners worldwide at HippoCampus.org.

Charlie Moviak

Charlie Mociak, Treasurer - Charlie joined the Nascent board of directors in 2009. He moved back to Colorado in June 2007 after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for twenty years. He was employed by Chevron for 28 years holding numerous Accounting & Auditing staff and supervisory positions. He is also currently Treasurer of the Eastcliffe Homeowners Association. While living in the Bay Area, Charlie was President of his Homeowners Association and the Institute of Internal Auditors – East Bay Chapter. He volunteers as a member of the General Store Volunteer Fire Department - located on Oak Creek Grade. Charlie also volunteers to help raise funds for the San Isabel Land Trust Organization located in Westcliffe. He is also an active member of the Sons of American Legion which is affiliated with the Westcliffe American Legion - Post 170. Charlie lives on the Old Griffin Ranch with his wife Candi. Charlie is an avid outdoor enthusiast, in his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, snow skiing, and hiking.

Terri Davis

Terre Davis, Director — Terre received her BA from the University of Michigan and her MA and PhD from Michigan State University.  Her career as a public school teacher, reading consultant, principal, superintendent, and adjunct professor at three major universities, ultimately led her to start her own business as a search consultant for boards of education.  She has been a keynote speaker at several state and national educational conferences and has developed and implemented programs to assist other persons who want to advance their individual careers and reach their individual potential.

Cosmo, the Cat

Cosmo, Museum Mascot — Cosmo the kitty, aka the Museum Mascot. He is as dark as deep space sporting a planet Saturn charm on his collar. He went on an extended cross country "space trip" with the curators. His likes are: ribbon, string, feathers and cheese puffs. As an honorary member of the board he has no voting privileges.
