Meet the Board of Directors
 |
Steve Janssen, Museum Curator — Steve started collecting space memorabilia when he was about 5 years old. That led to an interest in astronomy. He was an instructor with the Young Astronauts Program where he taught youth the importance of learning about space, science, math and technology. He was a member of the Saguaro Astronomy Club in Arizona before becoming a member of the Sangre Star Gazer’s Club in Colorado. He is also a member of the Dark Skies Organization and a volunteer for the Space Foundation based in Colorado Springs. He also volunteers as a member of the Custer County Search & Rescue as well as a volunteer firefighter. In his spare times he enjoys hiking, climbing and just being in the mountains.

Sharon Buck, Secretary — Sharon joined the nascent board of directors for the Southern Colorado Space Museum and Learning Center as secretary in '07, helping out with minutes-taking and letter-writing, among other things. A retired grandmother happy to be on a Rocky Mountain high after 20+ years in the mid-Atlantic with husband Don, she sees being part of the SCSMLC as a new challenge and opportunity to broaden her horizons. |

Bob Croach, Director — Robert (aka Bob) is a happily transplanted Coloradoan from Florida. Following a twenty-year career in the USAF flying everything from "trash haulers" to B-52s, Bob started a second career as a government contractor. He supported FAA, NASA, DoD and Federal, State, and Local law enforcement with various computer based products including online training, real-time, interactive work sites, and various logistical support functions. He currently is providing consulting support for environmental remediation and online training/interactive technical manuals. He is also the chairman of his community Road User's Group in rural southern Colorado and actively and enthusiastically supports the mission and concept of the Southern Colorado Space Museum and Learning Center. |

Stephanie Erbrecht, Director — Stephanie is a database administrator for a software company. Having had a relative who worked on the Apollo Missions, she has always had an interest in the space program. Past participation in non-profit organizations includes the Washington County (PA) Food Bank and Going Home Greyhounds (retired racing greyhound rescue). Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and is an active outdoor person. |

Charlie Mociak, Treasurer - Charlie joined the Nascent board of directors in 2009. He moved back to Colorado in June 2007 after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for twenty years. He was employed by Chevron for 28 years holding numerous Accounting & Auditing staff and supervisory positions. He is also currently Treasurer of the Eastcliffe Homeowners Association. While living in the Bay Area, Charlie was President of his Homeowners Association and the Institute of Internal Auditors – East Bay Chapter. He volunteers as a member of the General Store Volunteer Fire Department - located on Oak Creek Grade. Charlie also volunteers to help raise funds for the San Isabel Land Trust Organization located in Westcliffe. He is also an active member of the Sons of American Legion which is affiliated with the Westcliffe American Legion - Post 170. Charlie lives on the Old Griffin Ranch with his wife Candi. Charlie is an avid outdoor enthusiast, in his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, snow skiing, and hiking. |
